Our Timber

We try to use locally harvested wood and naturally fallen timber whenever possible. In fact, all of our American Black Walnut products are naturally fallen and locally harvested from right here in St. Louis. In addition to American Black Walnut, many of our tables are made of Longleaf pine. This species of wood offers a number of benefits. This timber is a dense pine and is known for having a very good strength to weight ratio.  It has nice decay resistance, and has a very nice finish compared to some other woods. 

Longleaf pine is straight grained, making it a sturdy and highly stable wood enabling it to sustain heavy weights. In fact, it was used for centuries in the construction of merchant and naval vessels.
